Are you looking for something to do this summer? Something productive, but still interesting? Entertaining, yet useful? And on top of all of that, do you want to make some new friends along the way?

If that's the case, then you're already on the right track! Here at Champion Debate, our staff is proud to introduce our sixth summer camp, building on our reputation for quality and individual attention. Every summer, we host a one-week long camp for middle school and rising high school students in the Fairfax area, blending the fun and friendship of a summer camp with the critical skills needed to compete as a debater.

How can that be? Isn't debate a nerdy thing to do? The answer: not really! We boast a colorful cast of characters in our staff, including musicians, artists, athletes, and writers. And as far as the campers go, they had a blast! Consider this: Champion Debate has recently expanded to offer a second week for advanced topics, because for the past three years, 9 out of 10 campers and parents said they would have signed up for a second week!

Each year, we strive to make our program the best there is. Unlike many larger programs, our staff isn't here for the pay: as volunteers, we're genuinely interested in what we do. And as students, we understand what just doesn't work: that is, long, boring classes where a teacher rattles on incessantly about something or another. We know that individual attention and engaging activities really bring out the best in us.

If you've ever had trouble presenting in class or speaking in public, we've got you covered. Along with learning rules and form, our staffers also spend a lot of time making sure everyone gets enough speaking practice in. We're also keenly aware of what's comfortable for each camper, and we'll never embarrass you (at least, until you're ready).
