Directors
Franklin Zheng (Attending): Franklin Zheng is currently finishing his senior year at TJ, and has won the Liberty District Championship as well as regionals, and has qualified for the state championship, as well as attending the Harvard Invitational and Metrofinals. Franklin is an alum of Champion Debate, and has taught new debaters for the last three years.
Christopher Lee (Attending): Christopher Lee is finishing his junior year at TJ, as well as his third year of debate. He has broken to octofinals and quarterfinals at the Harvard Invitational and George Mason Patriot Classic respectively. He is an alum of Champion Debate, and has taught for the last two years, and is a co-teaching coordinator for the TJ policy debate team.

Administration
Andy Mai (Not Attending): Andy Mai is currently a senior at TJ. He is interested in finance and has taken economics courses at the college level. He manages his own stock portfolio and has interned at many types of financial institutions. He plans to major in economics at college, and serves as the accountant and publicist for Champion Debate Camp.

Instructors
Han Kim (Attending): Han Kim is Franklin's partner, and is currently finishing his senioryear at TJ. Han has attended the Harvard Invitational and has received speaker awards and placed in local tournaments. He also attended Metrofinals.
Johnny Kim (Attending): Johnny is finishing his junior year at TJ. He has attended the Harvard Invitational, and has also competed in Metrofinals at the varsity level. He is currently the co-teaching coordinator of the TJ policy debate team.
Max Wang (Attending): Max is finishing his junioryear at TJ. He has attended the Harvard Invitational, and has also competed in Metrofinals at the varsity level as Johnny's partner.
Sulan Zheng (Attending): Sulan is finishing her junior year at TJ. After her first year debating, she attended the Liberty Debate Institute, and has since qualified for Metrofinals twice. She is currently competing at the varsity level, and has attended the Wake Forest invitational.
Katie Lin (Attending): Katie Lin is finishing her junior year at TJ. She is also involved in Latin and track and field, and has attended the Harvard Invitational, as well as placing in local tournaments and attending Metrofinals. Katie is an alum of champion Debate, and helped teach campers last year.
Crystal Yi (Attending): Crystal Yi is an alumni of Champion Debate, and is completing her junior year at TJ. She's active in drama, and has taught campers for the last two years.
Sungmin Sohn (Attending): Sungmin is finishing her junior year at TJ. After her first year debating, she attended the Liberty Debate Institute, and has since qualified for Metrofinals.
Ratna Gill (Attending): Ratna is finishing her junior year at the Flint Hill School, and helped found Flint Hill's policy debate team this year.
Jenny Zhao (Not Attending): Jenny Zhao is an alum of Champion Debate, and is currently finishing her junioryear at TJ. She helped teach campers last year, and in debate, has placed in local tournaments and attended Metrofinals and Wake Forest.
Abigail Xu (Not Attending): Abigail Xu is finishing her sophomore year at TJ, and has debated for both years in high school. She has attended the Harvard invitational, and done well in local tournaments, as well as attending the end-of-year Metrofinals. She will not be present for camp.

Counselors
In order to maintain an 8:1 camper-to-counselor ratio, we hire a number of freshmen counselors, almost exclusively ex-campers who attended Champion Debate in years past and wish to help out. Their profiles will be recorded as they are added to our roster.

At a Glance
Champion Debate '10
Champion Debate '10 will be our largest program yet, offering an extended two-week program for interested debaters and returning campers, as well as a qualified staff. Applications now open!
Champion Debate '09
Champion Debate '09 ended with a triumphant closing ceremony and talent show, having taught 34 campers vital skills in debate. Many of these campers showed exemplary skill during the tournament.
